HISTORY

The patented Waipuna System of hot water vegetation control was launched in 1993 by former New Zealand Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Jim Bolger, as an alternative to potentially harmful chemical compounds. Since that time, the environmentally friendly Waipuna System has diversified its applications to incorporate Hot Foam Weed Control, graffiti and chewing gum removal.

The company's name, "Waipuna", is taken from the Maori words, "Wai" meaning "water" and "puna" "clear spring". The name not only highlights that water is used to control weeds but it also echoes the Maori desire of not polluting the "whenua" - land and sea - considered precious to people everywhere.
